Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect on my first visit?

After you’re greeted by our Patient Services Representative, we will take a series of digital images or
x-rays. It may be a few more than you might expect, but x-rays are needed so that we can complete a comprehensive exam of your entire mouth. After reviewing your x-rays, your dentist will discuss your dental and medical history and the reason for your visit. The dentist will then perform a thorough oral exam and suggest a comprehensive treatment plan that's best for you.

Are Xray really necessary?

Absolutely. It is impossible to see directly between the teeth or under the gums or bone without the use of a dental radiograph. Many diseases and conditions can only be detected with the use of dental x-rays. X-rays allow dentists to detect disease and other conditions much sooner than the clinical examination alone. When problems are identified early, it's easier to resolve them and avoid more costly treatments.

Do you treat children?

Yes. Smile Dental welcomes young patients from the age of three and up. It's important to start caring for your oral health early! All patients under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during an office visit

What is a treatment plan?

You'll hear the term "comprehensive care" often at Smile Dental. It means that the doctors do more than just fix the immediate problem. They examine your entire mouth, recommend treatment options for long-lasting oral health, and work with you to pick which treatments suit you best.

Our goal is to provide you with comprehensive oral care - that means taking care of immediate problems and preventing small issues from getting bigger and more expensive.
After the doctor completes your exam, our office manager will meet with you to answer any questions,
discuss payment options, and work with you on the best treatment plan for your needs.

Tip: Research shows that keeping your teeth
and gums healthy is important for your overall health.
